There is nothing more joyous then getting dressed for a wedding (well at-least, I really do enjoy weddings) and a desi wedding in a foreign land is all the more special. So I thought I’d share with you all, my Indian outfit (which by the way my mom designed, as she has a boutique and never once in my life I have ever bought indian clothes on my own, when it comes to desi outfits, there is only one person I trust and thats my mom).
So let’s get into the nitty gritty bits of the wedding guest getting ready for a desi wedding shenanigan.
I usually don’t wear this much make up, except, when I have to attend a shaadi (wedding), and when I do, I want it to look just perfect.
So I started off with my skincare before actually putting on my make-up. I cleansed my face using Real U face cleanser foaming wash* gently massaging it with Foreo Luna Mini2*. And it’s a wonderful way to get a clean smooth base, before I applied my Diy turmeric face mask, and I let it sit on my skin for a good 10 mins before rinsing it off and applying my serum and moisturizer.
Once my skincare was done, I went ahead and straightening my hair using my new Nume hair straightener (which by the way I got off at a pretty good deal), so if you are looking for a new hair straightener or curling wand Nume has some pretty awesome deals going on right now.
You can get the straightener + 3in1 Curling wand + Free Argan oil For $99 using code SWEETCURLS
Hair dryers for 60% off using code GOODVIBES
Definitely worth checking out, especially if you are looking for a good curling iron or straightening iron.
Then, I moved on with my base, I applied Too Faced Hangoverx primer (will be reviewing this soon) all over my face and eyelids, and moved on with my eye make up. The only palette I used for my eyes was Charolette Tilbury Dolce Vita palette, followed by Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and mascara. Once my lids were done, I went ahead with my Nars All Day Luminous foundation (which I have reviewed here), and then on to color correcting my eyes followed by Urban Decay naked concealer and a little bit of baking. Once the base was all done, I went back to CT Dolce vita palette and took the reddish brown color and carefully smudged it on my lower lash line followed by tight-lining and water lining my eyes with Urban Decay eyeliner in Sabbath.
On to warming up my face I used TomFord Bronzer In Gold Dust* and to slightly chisel out my face I used TF Terra*. Followed by a soft flush of color, I used Milani romantic rose blush. And to add that highlighted oomph to my face I used Estee lauder bronze goddess Illuminator* and layered it with Becca Champagne pop. Since I had a strong glow and eyes as the focus, I wanted to keep the lips neutral and subtle, so I lined them using CT Pillow Talk and topped it off with Buxom lipgloss in dolly.
And here is my finished look 🙂
