What’s In My makeup bag & Catch Up – March edition

For the first time I didn’t feel that the month just whizzed through. It was a pretty amazing month to started with. Winters here in India were bit prolonged and it made Spring even more beautiful with the perfect weather and blooms.

A Little Catch-Up

Like I said March had been wonderful weather wise. And for the first time my daughter sat for her exams. Even though they were not the dreadful ones but yes, she got the taste of what it is like to appear for exams. She didn’t know what cheating was up until now. For her EVS exam, very innocently she asked me to write the spellings of worship places (which she couldn’t remember) on a chit and keep it in her pencil box. haha! Only to realize that was called cheating and was utterly wrong.

I also did a bit of traveling, visited my in-laws, and where my husband is living at the moment (yes, after 7-8 years of marriage we I am enjoying long distance relation* and some much needed time with my family) lol. We also, planned an impromptu trip to see the mighty Taj Mahal (if you follow me on instagram, you probably already know this, and sick of seeing it over and over again).

*P.S : We were in a long distance relationship during our engagement time for four years, before we got married. And I have to admit those were the years 😉

But that being said, all the traveling specially with kids made me downsize on my packing skills, cause I can be a major hoarder/over-packer when it comes to organizing for a trip. So these are the beauty bits that sorted me out during the month of March.

When it comes to base makeup, I’m not at all a foundation/bb cream wearer, and you probably know this if you have been following me for a while. But my under-eye circles need some TLC and that’s why the only base product that I use is a concealer. And I have been loving this concealer palette. Its so convenient and has enough shades to even work as a bronzer/contour (which again I don’t use on a regular basis). Also the only brush I like to use for concealing is the MAC 132S, its the perfect shape and size and works like a charm.

The next mandatory step after concealing is but ofcourse setting, and I have been using the Estee lauder x Victoria Beckham collection skin perfecting powder. I would say its nice, but nothing that you are missing on if you don’t have it. However, if you love packaging this is major #goals and makes you feel uber luxe every single time you pull it out of your makeup bag.

For eyes I used the Nars Blonde atomic palette* its amazing and has those nice warm shades that I totally dig. I used the bronzer shade to define the crease and for an evening out I amped up the look by adding a bit of dazzle with the shade icon.

For liner and mascara the only thing I have been using is my favorite and trusty TF eyeliner which I’m soon going to run out off and don’t know any other good alternative. So any suggestions are welcomed. For mascara I’m testing the IT cosmetics one, and I will soon update you on that.

For blush I’m still hooked onto the Hourglass unlocked palette (and I seriously think they should include that in their permanent line), I even use the bronzer shade in that palette as an eyeshadow and it looks soo soo pretty. Oh and for “the glow” which is the most important part after concealing and mascara, I’m over the moon obsessed with CT hollywood filter. Its amazing, its natural and oh-so-glowy.

For lips I have few options I’m in love with the Armani lip magnet in the shade 505 a beautiful pinkie, orangy, coral can’t really describe it well, but its the perfect spring lip shade in my opinion. Also smashbox legendary liquid lip pigment in shade mauve wife is my kind of rose-y mid tone pink and for days when I want to look like I practically have no makeup on I use Clarin water lip stain in the shade 01 rose water as my lip color and also on my cheeks.

What have you been loving lately?
