What’s In My Makeup Bag – Jan Edition

I should probably call this a ‘what was in my makeup bag!’ Unlike monthly fav I like sharing what I have been using for the past month. As I do get to try a lot of new makeup/skincare bits. So it’s fun sharing the hits n misses. And I do have to admit that I have started putting on makeup every single time I step out of the door. Unlike the old days when  kajal n lip gloss would suffice my beauty needs. Even though I like to keep it uber simple and minimal with some concealer, setting power, eye liner no eyeliner, mascara, brows, blush, highlighter n lipstick. Well I guess not so minimal, anyway eh??! You see blogging has kind of taken a toll over my makeup obsession a 1000 times more #beautybloggerproblems LOL.

That being said, lets just dig into the makeup bag.

FOR BASE :

I don’t really like to wear foundation or tinted moisturizer for every day, infact I rarely do ever wear foundations. But what I can’t do without is my concealer. And if you have been a follower of this blog then you probably know by now that I’m obsessed with this concealer. However, this past month I gave into the much hype surrounding the new Tarte shape and tape concealer. And I have to say when I swatched it at ulta I thought it was way too thick and drying imagine putting it under the eye. Despite the negative thoughts I did end up getting the concealer, and boy was I wrong or what? I have to admit this concealer totally lived up to it hype. It’s full coverage, effortless and a wonderful concealer to conceal the under-eye bags. Even though this concealer doesn’t require a lot of setting since it does set as a semi matt finish, but I do still like to dust some setting powder over my concealer. And I’m reunited with my old love Kick ass powder by Soap & Glory. It’s the best drugstore setting powder in my opinion.

FOR EYES : I do keep it very minimal, if I’m running out for groceries or picking my daughter from the school. I would just use some mascara, and at the moment I’m loving Urban Decay perversion*. But sometimes when I feel like wearing a liner I have to say I’m obsessed with Tarte tastiest double take eyeliner. It’s phenomenal, a) it’s dual ended with one side of liquid eyeliner bit and the other twist up pencil. and b) it’s the blackest eyeliner I have every used. And for brows if they are in shape and well groomed then I just use my trusty Trestique brow pencil*, and set my brow with the tinted brow gel, or if I have been lazy to take care of them, I did fill my brows with my Burberry brow pencil in Ebony.

FOR CHEEKS :

The only blush I have been using is Hourglass Ambient blush in radiant magenta. I had this blush sitting in my collection for over a year now. And I got this along with the hourglass ambient blush in diffused heat. And obviously I used the later constantly. I this month I made a conscious effort of use radiant magenta over any other blush. And I have to say it gives the prettiest pink winter flush to the cheeks. Plus you can’t go wrong with the hourglass blushes, they are just marvelous. And for highlighter, okay I have to confess I have a major weakness for highlighters I can’t resist them and I can’t walk out the door without them. And specially if you are someone with dry skin I feel highlighter’s automatically becomes your best friend. And I have been using a couple to them honestly. Dior highlighter in 001 is just gorgeous from packaging to the actual product in the pan. Even though I had a rough start with the product and thought it was over over hyped, but then when I used it with a dry beauty blender my entire outlook towards the highlighter changed. It’s is so stunning on the cheeks and gives an almost wet looking pretty glow. Another one of my all time favorite highlighter which you might have heard me rave about in every monthly favorites is the Estee Lauder Bronze goddess collection face palette highlighter*. It’s my go to foolproof highlighter of choice, absolutely love it, that’s I can say. Another new highlighter I tried and I was floored by is the Stila all over shimmer liquid luminizer, it was a gift from my friend and my oh my it’s bloody liquid gold for your face, it’s just ahhh I can’t even put in words.

FOR LIPS : I’m a nudist at heart haha, and I love, love, love nude lipsticks and yes they all are different even if they look the same, so don’t judge me 😉 And all that I have been wearing this past month is the combination of Mac liptensity in toast and butter layered with smoked almond and it gives me the prettiest peachy browny nude and I’m obsessed with the combination and that’s all I have been literally wearing all month long. And sometime I did layer it with some clear gloss from VS. If there is one lip product that has been consistent in my lipstick drawer throughout the years is the Victoria Secret Clear Lip Gloss. This is probably the best clear gloss in the market, I love the high sheen that it gives and it’s so minty, sweet and fresh. And I’m surprised I have never talked about it before. So yes if you love high shine lipgloss, that is not sticky, goopy and crazy, then definitely try the VS clear gloss.

And finally to lock everything in place I mist my face with Armani Prima face mist*, oh god it’s ridiculously expensive but works wonders for me. And I don’t know what I’ll do if I ever run out of it 😐

So that’s what I have been wearing lately. And have been obsessed with. And I’d love to hear what you have been loving from this past month ?
