Discoveries + Rediscoveries

We all love those samples, that we get from our Sephora online shopping or basically from anywhere, but are you the one who uses their samples right away, or are you like me, who loves to collect them and completely forget about them, until a drawer full of samples burst out on you like a lava? Lol hahaha, apart from the over-dramatisation, I love collecting samples, so much so that sometimes they even get expired 🙁

So I finally decided to use up all my samples. And keeping up with that thought, I pulled out a Sephora birthday gift thing that you get on your birthday for being a beauty insider/VIB.

I got a mini set of Make-up Forever lipstick, mascara and eyeliner. And I can’t believe I haven’t tried anything from their line until now.

As I had to run out of the house for my baby’s Rhyme time session, I wasn’t planning on dolling up, but we all got to do what to have to before stepping out.

Sample Testing :

MD Solar Sciences Mineral Tint Crème : Have never heard of this one before, but I was looking for a good sunscreen and when I saw this, a sunscreen+tinted creme, I immediately added it to my cart, though I have just used it twice(after having it sit in my stash for a couple of months). When I used it for the first time, it felt pretty nice, almost like a tinted primer with added benefits of a sunscreen with SPF of 30, I was pretty impressed that I had almost made up mind to buy it, but when I grabbed it the second time, there was oil all over the tube, the product and the oil had separated creating a mess, its quite slippery and not quite ideal for wearing makeup on top of it. It’s good for those days when you don’t want too much of makeup, just a little bit of evening out your skin tone and sun protection. I guess I won’t be going back to buy the full size tube.

Make-up Forever Smokey Extravagant Mascara : I instantly fell in love with the Wand of this mascara, formula is nice too, but the wand just stood out to me, with small eyes it gets a bit difficult to coat the inner lashes, the tapered end just did a fine job of doing what other wands don’t seems to do on my non-existent lashes.

Another good thing about it is, it didn’t flake or caused any itching. Would definitely be purchasing a full size one, once I need a new mascara 😉

Make-up Forever Lipstick (N9) : Ok this might just turn into a big raving kind of a review, but I loved the lipstick, its smooth creamy and the color was perfect for a minimal day look.

Rediscoveries :

Loreal True Match Powder : While searching through the sample bag, I caught hold of my loreal true match pressed powder, I had completely forgotten how much I love it, its quite a smooth finish, without looking overly powder-y or flakey. And has a nice coverage, evening out the skin tone.

Rockateur : Thats the problem with owning too many blushes you tend to neglect a lot of your stuff. While browsing through the blush collection, I pulled this baby out, Benefits Rockateur, not super fond of the packaging though, but the blush itself is a bomb, from the color to the lovely scent of it, it feels like you have opened a box full of roses.

And onto the list of the rest of the products that I used :

– Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in Nude.

– Clear gloss from VS

– Mac Fix+

Hope you have a lovely day, and don’t forget to use up those samples hiding somewhere in your stash.

And I would love to know what all samples your got and are enjoying!

Xoxo
