It was one of those days where I was playing with my makeup, specially with the stuff which I rarely wear, yet they are there in my collection. Not that I don’t like them, because I have way too much of it that I can share with 10 other ladies and yet have enough to suffice for the rest of my life . Well believe it or not, there are weirdo’s like me.
Yes its definitely a money burner in my case, yet I just can’t stop buying it.
Definitely not the point that I’m trying to make here. What I’m trying to get at, is how I discovered the perfect red lipstick shade for my skin tone.
Having wheat-ish complexion with olive undertones and pigmented lips, a true red or a bright red lip won’t be the thing for me, nor a deep maroon red, that would be too aunty like.
So while playing with my makeup I mixed two lipstick accidentally and as if a red lipstick fairy godmother was dancing by, and twisted her wand and sprinkled on me the perfect red color.
Here are those two lipsticks which I mixed.
Mac’s Limited edition in Ruby(Amplified) & Rimmel’s lasting finish by Kate in no. 107 (don’t get me wrong, both of them on their own look stunning too)
Here are the swatches of the lipsticks :
Mac Ruby (limited edition)
Rimmel Kate 107
Thank you for sticking by with me with my endless blabber, hope you enjoyed this post. Don’t forget to share your favourite red lipstick or lipstick combination 🙂
Tip : When applying a dark lipstick specially red, make sure to first use a lip-liner, and in case if you don’t have one, you can always use a brush, that way it won’t bleed out of lines and stays put. And we all know the trick about blotting our lips and applying a little powder on top for a lasting colour. Just incase you don’t (click here).
